Maison Bleu

The house is very old and probably dates to before the 18th century as are most of the houses in this part of the village.  It is in a street called euphemistically Grand Rue meaning main road, probably because it is the main road leading up to the higher parts of the village.  Outside the house is an old 17th century fountain which has four heads representing the four seasons.

The house has been renovated in keeping with the style of the area and is on three levels.  From the street you walk into an open plan living room/kitchen with a modest but functional kitchen and working fireplace.  The kitchen is fully equipped including:-

  • Oven and hob
  • Toaster
  • Coffee maker
  • Fridge/freezer
  • Automatic washing machine

There are two double bedrooms simply but attractively furnished, one with a double bed on the top floor and the other has two single beds.  All bed linen and towels are provided.  The top bedroom leads onto the roof terrace, which has excellent views of the village and surrounding mountains and is equipped with garden furniture and an umbrella.  It provides an ideal setting to enjoy the evening with a glass of wine while watching the stars.

There is one bathroom with a shower next to the middle floor bedroom.

For winter visitors, the house is kept warm and cosy by electric radiators and a fireplace in the living room.
